In 2011, companies based outside of North America invested over $400 billion to acquire US-based companies. These non-US purchases of US-based companies will likely continue, especially for larger businesses.
However, for transactions below $50 million in enterprise value, over 90 percent of acquirers have historically been companies headquartered in the United States or the US-based operations of foreign companies.
Although most transactions below $50 million with a US-based seller are completed with a domestic purchaser, Plaisance Advisors is structured to ensure our clients have access to global capital flows. We work with a select group of like-minded investment banking firms to identify and contact potential acquirers from around the world. As a result, potential investors from many countries actively participate in nearly every transaction we undertake.
