Transaction: Lincoln Electric desired to sell its motor operations, which represented only a small portion of the overall company, to enable it to focus on its welding equipment and consumable businesses.  The transaction was a carve-out and sale of the electric motors unit of Lincoln Electric

Company Description: Lincoln Motors is a leading producer of electric motors used in numerous applications from industrial machinery to car washes.

Summary: Plaisance prepared a detailed offering memorandum described Lincoln Motors’ strong market position and excellent outlook.  Plaisance also identified and contacted a set of potential acquirers from around the world.  After thorough marketing and negotiating, Lincoln Motors was sold to Regal Beloit Corporation.
