Responsibilities at Plaisance Advisors: Mr. Slocum brings to Plaisance Advisors over 30 years of professional experience in investment banking, finance and consulting. Prior to joining Plaisance, Ric was the Managing Director and Founder of Slocum Capital Co. (SCC), a successful Investment Banking and CFO Consulting Firm. Before Ric started SCC he worked with Sucsy, Fischer & Company (SFCo) since 2004 as a Managing Director and Principal Advisor in areas that include raising capital, financial structuring, financial modeling, alternative financing methods, due diligence, recapitalizations, restructuring and the management of distressed companies. During that time, Ric also served as the Interim CFO for four start-up companies in the following industries: Telecommunications, Digital Media, Business Process Outsourcing and Aerospace Broadband Technology. In those roles he directed all of the company’s financial activities as well as installing and strengthening operational and financial controls.
Prior to SFCo, Ric worked three years for a middle-market securities firm as Senior Managing Director of Corporate Finance & Consulting, where he marketed, originated and executed financing transactions. Earlier, Ric spent seventeen years in two stints with JP Morgan Chase and its predecessors, eleven years with Bank One Corporation and First Chicago in various corporate finance and high yield roles as a Managing Director and six years with Chase in global financial consulting and business unit Chief Financial Officer roles.
Ric began his career in public accounting with Ernst & Ernst rising to a Senior CPA and spent two years with Mellon Bank in financial management and polices before heading to New York City.
Academic Credentials: Ric holds a B.A. from The Pennsylvania State University in Finance and a MBA from St. John’s University – New York in Finance.
